Mostly, I love warm and sunny days where Avery and I can play outside or go to the park but every once in a while there’s another kind of perfect day. Like today.
The sun never came up, the temperature remained chilly and Avery was teething. Not the bad kind of teething like what babies do, but toddler teething which meant lots of this for him.

And lots of this,

and this,

For me:) I love it.
We spent quite a lot of time snuggling. He kept me warm, I kept him company.
Once he was napping I cleaned a bit and then made a nice big green juice using tarragon and collard greens from the garden along with carrots, apple and oranges.

If you’re unfamiliar with tarragon it’s an herb that has the same licorice flavor that so many other herbs like basil, and fennel have but of course is unique in it’s own herbiness. It’s often used in marinades for chicken and pork and I love it! This year my tarragon came back as a massive bush.

So I am glad that it tastes delicious in juice because I have plenty of it! It feels good to have a use for so much of one thing.

My juice came out SO amazing and smooth and green.

Such a power drink.
I had to make a fast dinner since Shane is a leader in our middle school class at church and they do a Wednesday night class. I decided to use the rice cooker for double duty and cook brown basmati rice in the bottom and steamed corn and carrots on top. Then I pulled out some chicken stock that I froze when I cooked a chicken in the crock pot a while ago and made a quick gravy with it.

I layered the rice, gravy and veggies, the combo of rice and gravy made a yummy risotto feel to the dish.
In other new, Avery, for the first time, used a spoon properly!!!

He always gets frustrated with utensils because somehow they get turned upside down on the way to his mouth. But this time he steadied it with his other hand and it worked great! So proud of my big boy:) He also drinks from a real glass too *tear*.

This was my solution at home for getting rid of the plastic sippy cups. It’s worked out great so far!
So that was my perfect perfect day. I just finished another glass of green juice and can’t wait until Shane gets home so we can hang out.
Question: What sorts of days do you enjoy?

I had a super relaxing day today…got my hair done too! but being a student, the stuff that needs to be done still weighed down on my mind the entire time. I’m sure if I had a baby as cute and snuggly as yours, I’d forget about silly things like hw!
I can’t wait until teething equals cuddling instead of screaming! ha! So cute.
You’re right, perfect days usually aren’t epic – they’re just filled with small things that make it bright
. You’re a great example of appreciating the little things in life!
Aww, those are the best days! Smoothie and food looks good as always. I’m not a big fan of plastic cups either infact my little guy drinks out of glass sippy cups and occasionally glass cups but it still scares me to let him hold the glass cup.
Yeah it’s definitely something that you have to just bite the bullet and let them practice (and spill). I use 8oz mason jars mostly because they’re so little and not easily breakable like normal small glasses.
