Long baths and lasagna

Today is our grocery day! We do our shopping about twice a month together and it’s quite the affair. First we go to Aldi and get some basics. I know, Aldi isn’t exactly the quality store but they have alot of cheap items like olives, diced tomatoes and such as well as some organic produce for half the price of other grocery stores! So we go there first and get everything we can.

Then we head over to Hyvee for the none basics like garbonzo beans, brown rice(I know, you’d think that would be a basic but Aldi doesn’t carry it), alcohol and more exotic produce. I also am making the next month of lunches for Shane this weekend so it was time to stock up! Tonight is the first installment of the bulk foods and I made him lasagna. But first, since lasagna takes a long time I whipped up a quick bowl of guacamole…

I just pop an avocado, tomato, some onions, garlic, salt and lime juice and mix it up! Super duper!

I also munched on two pears. They’re red d’anjou pears. Very crunchy but juicy at the same time. That’s when you know it’s ripe if they’re sweet and juicy. Super nice.

So I finished up the lasagna and here’s what it turned out looking like! This should make about five lunches! Also was enough for Shane’s dinner too.

I just layered noodles, homemade sauce, cottage cheese that I spiced with garlic, salt, onions and parsley, and a mix of white cheeses.

While it was baking I took a very hot bath with Epsom salt, coconut oil and lavender oil and some bubbles….it was amazing. So now we’re watching a movie on a lovely Friday night. Who could ask for more!
