Grrrranola 3.0?

Okay, this granola is yet another version. Sorry for the barrage but here’s the deal, I never, ever, ever, ever make the same thing twice. Of anything. Literally. I might try, but it doesn’t change anything.

So the granola I’ll be munching on the next few weeks breaks down like this.

Granola with Quinoa

6 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 cup raw almonds, chopped
1/2 cup quinoa, raw but soaked
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup honey
1 Tblsp blackstrap molasses
2 cups raisins
sprinkle of cinnamon
dash of salt

Combine all dry ingredients except for raisins and then add the oil, honey, molasses and quinoa and mix in with your hands until everything is very evenly coated.

Then spread the mixture out onto a cookie sheet and press down. My mom actually gave me this tip when she did it with a super fancy granola recipe a bit ago. It gives the granola a very clumpy and crunchy texture.

Bake until it’s golden brown in the middle. The outsides will be more brown, obviously, but you want the center to be crunchy and clumpy too.

Then spread the raisins over and wait for it to cool a bit before breaking it up.

I usually try and reuse non-plastic containers in my house and the cardboard oatmeal cylinder is perfect.

Then enjoy over some homemade yogurt with a touch of local honey!

I don’t like super sweet granola because I love putting honey over my bowl but if you do like it, then go ahead and add some more honey to your batch, or even maple syrup!

Anyway, on a totally unappetizing note….

This is how snot gets on the floor.

Yum! This recipe sounds great! I will give it a try. At what temperature do you bake the granola?

Oh dear! I forgot that part. I baked it at 350 degrees. Probably for about 45min.
