Grocery days are epic. I become a woman I wish I could be all the time and that powers through the largest challenges. I don’t know why I lack productivity like this on other days but I am just grateful that every two weeks I do massive amounts of crazy stuff.
This morning started out with lots of bundling. It was already cold outside at a nippy 23 degrees but the temperature was going to do nothing but drop (currently 7 degrees! ouch). So I pulled out the hats for the boys.

They hate hats…Daddy loves when they wear them. The torture? The cuteness? Probably both.
Avery’s is new and we’re trying to get him to like it because it has a dinosaur on it.

It’s kind of working.
Anyway, so I dropped Shane off at work and went to Costco, Aldi, Cargo Largo, and Hyvee. I generally pick and choose which stores fit for whichever list I have that week. I didn’t get food at Cargo Largo…just some random other needs. I nailed grocery day spending $100.91 for the next two weeks. I’m excited because I messed up the numbers in my head at one point and freaked out but it turned out I was on track.
We got home around naptime so I fed the boys and put them down and then got to work. Oh wait, no, I did yoga, had a shower and THEN got to work. Oh wait, no, that’s when Eli woke up….so I played with him and THEN got to work.
First I made almond milk.

I had to make this for two reasons. The first reason is that I’d rather make yogurt out of all the cows milk I get and give him this to drink for a treat, and the second reason is that I needed it for these banana granola bars.

Which I also made today. The recipe is over at Oh She Glows as well as the recipe for almond milk….she’s a freaking vegan genius and I love the diversity of her ingredients.
Then I put the split pea soup ingredients in the rice cooker.

My mom used to make it growing up and I think Dad and I were the only ones in the house that liked it. I get a craving every day for it so I finally just made it to get it out of my system. So good. You’re on the right track Dad, and Mom, bless you for making this for us. It’s incredible. I made it for dinner. So good.

Then I made some bread. Two regular loaves and one cinnamon cranberry loaf. Delicious.

Then I also made granola.

Then I made gripe water……but more on that tomorrow.
It’s also important to note that I did clean out the humidifiers. So that’s pretty amazing.
I also nursed for 99999.6hrs.
So here I am, ready to relax.
Have a good night!

Reading this post, I was reminded of the time we lived in the duplexes (only Kristen was around then) and we invited your folks over for dinner which was split pea soup (???) I forgot to put the top on the blender when pureeing it and green slop when spraying all over the place. We ordered pizza. Your parents ARE amazing!!!
I am not sure where you’re getting your information, but good topic. I needs to spend some time learning more or understanding more. Thanks for great info I was looking for this info for my mission.
