Shop…Opened

I opened an Etsy shop today! I decided to start selling ring slings due to the amount of feedback I get every time I go out with Eli. I’m always wearing him and I made my own slings and even though the ones I’ve been using with him are with scraps I had laying around, I decided to see if I could do more. I’m always telling people how to make them and hope that they will but just in case their sewing machine is in the dumpers, or they don’t actually had one, I thought I’d try and do my best to supply reasonably priced, safe and sturdy ring slings.

These are great for babies of any age. Eli is nine months old, heavy, long, and sits very comfortably on my hip in a sling and gives me two free hands for holding Avery’s hand and the diaper bag or whatever I need them for.

My source for rings is slingrings.com  , the ONLY place to get your rings as far as I’m concerned since they provide safety tested rings in a variety of sizes, colors and materials.

So if you’re buying a gift for a new mom, need a sling for you babe/toddler or want to carry your dog around (I was actually approached by a man who wanted this), no judgements! Come stop by and check out what I’ve got. I’ll be posting more as I make them. These two are bold but I’ll also be making more subtle ones for the women who aren’t so much about making their carrier an accent piece. Stay tuned! I’ll update on here whenever I add another item. You can get to my page from the Etsy link on my side bar or you can look me up as……TheRingSlinger and I don’t mess around.

Question: Are you a babywearer? Do you support/LOVE it?

You are just too awesome. It was hard enough making my own ring sling a few weeks ago with a toddler running amok and another always needing to be held/nursed–you are a total rock star for taking the time to make *other people* slings!
Did you use the accordion fold?
As for the question…I totally support AND love baby wearing. It is quite literally the only way I’m able to do anything–ever!

Aww thanks sister:) I actually did a ‘hot-dog’ fold. I find I can sew through it easier than some of the others and still maintain a somewhat manageable amount of ring space left….if I just pleat it takes up more of the ring than I like.

Awesome! I still don’t even own a sewing machine.

Hey, how come I never see you one skype these days? I have a new baby so you should get on there.

My sister the entrepreneur! When I have a baby I will order this from you. I read a great passage this morning that makes me think of you: “She makes coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies belts to the tradesmen. Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future.” (Prov. 31:22-25.)
