Green Food and Friends

Yesterday for the first time in the last seven weeks I woke up wanting fruits and veggies……green ones, and alot of them! I hadn’t gone grocery shopping in forever since I’ve just felt sick and not up to thinking about food much.  So in stead of having  greenness for breakfast I had oatmeal with granola.

I use maple syrup for sweetener and flavor. It makes it feel very rustic:) Still good even though it wasn’t green. But by the time I got home from work I was in such a frenzy for green things that we went straight to the store and got this bundle of goodness!

Basically anything at the store that was green. It was all I had eyes for. Though I did get some things like garbonzo beans and rice as well. I immediately tackled a kiwi and now realize I’m allergic to them. haha

It was so good though and I don’t think I can stop eating them! Shane just told me to at least wait til I’m not pregnant to eat them…..we’ll see if I can withhold! So, today we’re going to be helping my Aunt and Uncle move and so I though making them a meal would be a god idea for when they’re settling in so I made a pasta salad.

I used penne pasta and put olives, fresh parsley, pickled yellow peppers, feta cheese and a homemade vinaigrette. It turned out that I made alot more than I thought I did…..so when my friend Esther came over we had some as well as hummus and veggies.

Cucumbers and carrots……of course I added hot sauce atop the hummus. It was so good! Cucumbers were definitely something I needed!

Now I’m munching on a green apple and yellow pear and they’re incredibly delicious with my Earl Grey tea.

On to the Pregger pic of the week. Each Saturday I’ll be taking them since Saturday marks the start of a new week in my pregnancy. Today I reach thirteen weeks.

Pretty soon I’ll be making a gallery to see them side by side so that it’s easier to tell the changes. I’m probably not much different than last week as I still haven’t gained back the weight I’ve lost since getting pregnant. Still my belly keeps pooching out so I hope that’s a good sign! Now that I’m craving veggies maybe I’ll be able to go
